this year's plant start giveaway was a great success
Thanks to the Kalamazoo Nature Center and Kalamazoo College for donating plant starts, Common Ground was able to offer free plant starts to community gardens again this year. Over 20
local community gardens received a flat of vegetable starts to get their gardens up and running.
We also used the funds from Water Street Coffee Joint's generous donation to purchas a $10 gift certificate to Farm and Garden for each garden that registered for the plant start give away.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 11, 6:00–8:30 p.m.! We'll be chartering a bus to tour a handful of community gardens around the Kalamazoo area. Each year we organize some type of garden tour—last year it was a self-guided scavenger hunt, this year it's a guided bus tour. Or if you want to be a little more active, we are also developing a guided bicycle tour of gardens as well to coincide with the bus tour. For now just save the date and stay tuned for more details.
