Common Ground is here to support Community Gardens throughout the greater Kalamazoo area. Through our collaborative efforts and affiliations with many community resources, Common Ground is able to provide resources to community gardeners throughout Kalamazoo. Our resources are listed in the menu to the right on every page; below is a list with a short description — click on any of these resources to learn more about them.

Classes – We connect you with gardening classes happening in the community, most of which are provided through MSU Extension and most are free and open to the public.

Mentor – If you could use a little advice about challenges you’re having at your garden, contact us for a garden mentor who can help.

Plant Start Giveaway – Each spring we hold a Plant-Start-Giveaway where community gardens can register to pickup plant starts and seeds to help get their gardens started.

Property – If you’re looking for a vacant lot to start a garden project on, the Kalamazoo County Land Bank might be able to hook you up with a vacant lot in your neighborhood.

Tool Lending Program – Common Ground maintains a collection of garden tools and resources available to community members for short term loan at no cost.
